Samgyeopsal is one of the most popular Korean BBQ dishes. Thick slices of pork belly are grilled at the table and eaten with various sides and dipping sauces. Here's how you can enjoy Korean BBQ at home!
📝 Ingredients (2–3 servings)
- 500g pork belly slices
- Salt & pepper
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp garlic (minced, optional)
🌿 For Serving:
- Ssam (lettuce or perilla leaves)
- Sliced garlic and chili peppers
- Ssamjang (Korean dipping sauce)
- Cooked rice
- Kimchi
Korean Grilled Pork Belly (Samgyeopsal)
🍳 Instructions
- Prep the pork belly
Cut pork belly into bite-size pieces if not pre-sliced. - Season lightly
Sprinkle with a little salt and pepper. Let sit for 5–10 minutes. - Grill
Grill on a hot pan or grill until golden and crispy. No oil needed! - Make dipping sauce (optional)
Mix sesame oil and minced garlic or just sesame oil and salt. - Serve
Wrap pork belly in lettuce with rice, kimchi, garlic, and ssamjang. Enjoy!
💡 Tips:
- Don’t overcook the meat. It should be crispy outside but juicy inside!
- You can add mushrooms, onions, or tofu on the grill, too.
